What is the Skilled Worker Visa?
The UK Skilled Worker Visa replaced the former Tier 2 (General) work visa in December 2020 as part of the UK's points-based immigration system. It allows overseas nationals to live and work in the UK for an approved employer, providing a clear pathway to settlement for those who qualify.
At MLC Immigration Lawyers, we have successfully guided hundreds of skilled professionals through this process — from healthcare workers and engineers to IT specialists and educators.

However, exceptions exist for certain shortage roles including healthcare workers, teachers, and social care professionals who may qualify at a lower salary threshold.
